Table Scraps: Dog Days of August

(That’s Skillet, trying to scam on my sister’s bloody mary)

Oy, it’s been a couple of weeks, mate! I’ve been struggling, as many of us have been, and I really couldn’t find inspiration to update MPCC. But I’m still here! Hopefully you’re still here too.

Just like me, my dogs have settled into a routine. It’s wake up at 6am, go for a walk, come back and have breakfast, play play play, then pass out around 7:30 or 8 and sleep until noon. This isn’t my routine, just so we’re clear on it, but it is theirs. The thing is, they play so hard, Kitty’s weird little ballerina feet get hurt often. She’ll limp for a day and then it’s healed… until the next time she twists or sprains it. Trying to keep them calm is near impossible. Any tips or tricks y’all got? Hmu.

So what’s on the radar? I discovered this adorable puppers, Chloe, who has some pretty exceptional parents. I’m considering buying this Scottie face mask -- I don’t have a Scottie but my god I love em. Doug the Pug’s 2020 should be a calendar. Would you put your dog in cashmere? I def would not; my dogs would ruin that in one fell swoop. You’ll love this graphic interview with Animal Haven in The New York Times; it is both uplifting and sad, as NYC’s Animal Haven navigates rescuing and adopting out animals during the pandemic.

As I get deeper into the pet world, it’s become kinda overwhelming with how many new dog and cat food brands are out there. There are so many! I’m trying to interview each and every one, so hold tight.

Stay safe, sane, and masked,
MPCC xx
