Table Scraps: Anniversaries

Nerding out.

Nerding out.

Today I’m thinking about anniversaries - specifically about my dog Kitty, and her “gotcha day.” We picked up Kitty from the American Airlines cargo section of SeaTac on September 17, 2016. She was so small! She’s since grown from that little 12lb. 4 month old to a 35lb. 4 year old. It’s amazing how pets change our entire lives. I can’t imagine quarantine without these two little creatures, full of love and fun and the most absurd personalities. I often think maybe dogs and cats are our little friendly aliens. I mean, right?

So how do you celebrate your pets’ gotcha days? We typically make pupcakes and share them with our neighbors, but this year will be a much smaller celebration as per everything 2020.

What I’m reading right now: Can Cats Have Alzheimer’s? (sadly they can, it’s called Feline Senile Dementia), as well as an update on dogs sniffing out COVID. Are you super into zodiac signs and have money to burn? Nordstrom has astrological dog tags for $180 a pop. Question though - do you choose your sign, or your dog’s sign?

Stay safe out there. Stay sane. And thanks to all the firefighters who are battling wildfires up and down the West Coast.

MPCC xx
