Table Scraps: Spooky Szn!!

Adorable pet tags via Em & Me. Check ‘em out here; $30.

Hallelujah! We made it through summer. Unscathed, hopefully. I’ve been pretty neglectful over the past few months with blogging, digging deep into the pet-side of the internet, and updating MPCC but I promise that I’m back, better than ever. Or, more of the same. Up to you, really.

So a couple months ago, I discovered the cutest pet tags (see above for Halloweenie ones), via Em & Me. They have all kinds of tags, though — so don’t feel like you have to get a bat, or a jack-o-lantern, or a witch hat… or a ghost… I MEAN, COME ON THESE ARE AMAZING.

Other cool things on the interwebs: this first-time pet parent guide from Apartment Therapy:

Seriously, how cute is the design for this?! And also, really great information about getting your very first pet. Some folks probably coulda used this pre-pandemic, but hopefully all have settled in by now.

Other stuff that hath caught my eye:

  • Green Pet Waste Composting & Yard Pickup (courtesy of Mud Bay) — a PNW resource for composting and removal of pet waste. Hey, if you have pets, you know this solution is needed.

  • Eagerly awaiting Tabitha Brown’s next drop for Target — there are a couple bandannas for pups on clearance, just in case you missed the last round!

  • Speaking of Target, how wonderful is it that they really bust it out for Halloween? I just spotted some Halloween treats like these Blue Buffalo Boo Bars (say it 5x fast) and Temptations Tasty Humans for Kitties, as well as their (in)famously adorable pet costume collection. Love. It.

  • Inverse.com has an article up titled, Why Do Dogs Like to Cuddle? Pet Experts Explain How to Bond with Your Pup. For some reason the subhead, “No two dogs are the same,” seems foreboding. Maybe I’m too into spooky ish right now though.

  • And finally, a friend sent me this link: Dog Stories from The Spectator (The Public Domain Review) — Posted on September 5, 2011, this post dives into “a curious volume entitled Dog Stories From The Spectator : Being Anecdotes Of The Intelligence, Reasoning Power, Affection And Sympathy Of Dogs, Selected From The Correspondence Columns Of The Spectator by J St Loe Strachey (1895).” Quaint, charming, and ultimately, kinda weird, I giggled reading these excerpts created to provide “no little entertainment for all who love dogs.”

That’s it for me on this early October day! More to come — especially later int he month when I take to torturing dressing my dogs up in costume.

Cheers,
MPCC xx
